Step Inside the World of Dragon Ball One More Time
The first Dragon Ball game was released more than two decades ago and received overwhelming acclaim from Dragon Ball fans and gamers. Since then, a large number of episodes have been released for gamers to enjoy and interest seems to have been dying out in recent years. Can Dragon Ball Xenoverse reawaken interest in this colourful world? Check out the review to find out.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse brings all of the frenzied battles between Goku and his rivals to life. Characters such as Frieza, Cell and Vegeta bring plenty of menace to the game as well as tough challenges that have been well represented here. There is lots of action and different tasks to complete, which helps to ensure that there is never a dull moment.
Players finally have the chance to customise their avatars, which can be a lot of fun. These avatars are connected to many of the other characters in the game as well as to Trunks. Players can use Trunks to travel through time and help restore the history of Dragon Ball. This allows the creators to represent all of the past features that gamers loved best while giving them a fresh new spin.
The game starts as you become your own Z Warrior and use this character to take on new challenges. Because this is a character of your very own, you will be able to decide how they look and even move and interact with other characters to some extent.
Despite the new features of the game, there is no escaping the fact that this story has been told many times before. Gamers who have taken on some of the challenges of the other games are sure to feel like they have done it all before and there is not too much to make Dragon Ball Xenoverse stand apart. It has been hinted that this is the last episode in the Dragon Ball saga, and if that is true it has come at just about the right time.
Once again, Raditz will be punctured by the Special Beam Cannon and many of the other features that made Dragon Ball so unique have also been recreated in this episode. However, some of the best features such as the grandiose narrative are also present, and to be fair without these elements it simply wouldn’t be Dragon Ball. There are also fresh story arcs for gamers to enjoy as well as some surprise elements that have never been seen before.
There is definitely plenty to do in the game and players will be able to spend hours exploring Dragon Ball Xenoverse and taking on different challenges. However, some of the elements can be very tricky at first and more content ultimately means that players have more to learn. It can take a rather long time to understand how different characters move and exactly what is required to complete different challenges. The balance between learning and actually playing can be a bit off in places, dampening the fun slightly.
Fans of the Dragon Ball world will find plenty to do in this game. One of the things that Dragon Ball fans love from the original comics and cartoons is the sheer number and variety of characters. Unfortunately, many of the cool characters are missing from this game and players may find the choice that they are given rather limiting.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse, a game created by Namco Bandai, adds a new twist to the Dragon Ball Z series. The game has been improved a lot since the last game they created. In the past, most Dragon Ball games were beat-em-ups with little substance outside of that. Dragon Ball Xenoverse corrects that with plenty of story, and it even attempts to bring this up in a new and original manner.
When you visit the History of Dragon Ball Xenoverse, you see a group called the Time Breakers, who throw a wrench into the space-time continuum and cause the rewriting of history. Through sheer luck, Trunks uncovers the Dragon Balls, and he prevents the impending doom. You enter into a world as the Future Warrior. The coolest part about Dragon Ball Xenoverse is how you create a hero and enter Toki Toki City. There, you begin your journey into history.
Story missions continue on as a succession of battles, and you continue on in aiding your Z Warriors. You set it up so that you can revisit the most pivotal moments in the Dragon Ball Z series. That includes seeing the confrontation between Raditz and Goku that ended with Goku dying. The story mode does abandon some of the key characters to focus on the less famous members. However, after hearing about these characters for more than two decades, that has become a welcome break. If you feel this absolute need to play as Piccolo or Gohan, you can still play them in the other modes.
To expand upon the fiction of Dragon Ball Xenoverse, you have what is called Parallel Quest mode. The side missions can be tied into the main plot, and you can expand them into additional battles and adventures. All of this proves more interesting than what you might find with the main modes. Dragon Ball Xenoverse has one of the most interesting environments with World Tournament and classic Versus modes. Goku returns to the roster, and he is part of a giant cast of over 47 different characters that you can battle with. You can choose to fight against friends locally, or you can take your gaming skills to the online community and test out your fighting knowledge.
One of the problems with Dragon Ball Xenoverse is that you have to spend money before you can see how equipment looks on you. In addition, the gear does not really explain much to you. You have to be a hardcore Dragon Ball Z fan and have background knowledge of the gear to understand how it benefits you. The combat system is terribly fun, but it does lack a certain level of depth.
